📌Disaster risks are escalating globally, with increasing heatwaves, droughts, and floods, and the highest number of violent conflicts since World War II. Urban areas are the hardest hit by these disasters, which cost cities over $300 billion annually. These cities are home to more than 50% of the 1.3 billion people with disabilities worldwide, who are twice as likely to die in disasters due to limited mobility, lack of timely support, and inaccessible safety measures.

❗Half of the buildings projected to exist by 2050 are yet to be constructed. This is our chance to reshape the urban landscape, prioritizing resilience, sustainable design, and low-carbon construction and ensuring that persons with disabilities can fully participate in urban life.

❗The Resilient and Inclusive Cities Hub (RICH) aims to ensure that cities are accessible, equitable, and prepared for the challenges of the future.
